THE TROUBADOUR PODCAST - The Premier Red Dirt, Texas Country and Independent Music Podcast

Dec 29, 2017

In this episode I interview my good friend Trevor Burgess about his time traveling the Midwest as a live musician; not only as a solo artist, but also as a band leader.  We venture into our days of forming a garage band together in high school, to our eventual time at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS where we both played open mic nights before working our way into paying gigs.  We visit about his journey from being a man with a regular job to finding himself making his entire living from playing live music in bars and beer joints.  We also discuss the rise of the "Red Dirt" and "Texas Country" movement during our time in Manhattan, KS and his impact on that scene.  We also discuss some of the more interesting times in Trevor's life from the time he spent working for sports broadcasting legend Pat Summerly to a day Burgess spent hanging out with the one and only O.J. Simpson!
