THE TROUBADOUR PODCAST - The Premier Red Dirt, Texas Country and Independent Music Podcast

Apr 28, 2019

On this week's episode of The Troubadour Pete and Carly visit with the frontman of one of the most successful bands with the most longevity in the Texas Country and Red Dirt scene: Randy Rogers of The Randy Rogers Band.

Randy talks about the band's latest record released on Friday, April 26th, 2019:  "Hellbent."  The project was recorded in RCA's legendary "Studio A" in Nashville with well known producer Dave Cobb.  As Randy says during this interview, listeners unfamiliar with the studio should simply Google "RCA Studio A" to find out just how many hit songs have been recorded there in the past few decades.

Randy speaks about the origin of The Randy Rogers Band in San Marcos, TX nearly 20 years ago now.

Randy is very candid in this interview about the commitment and conviction it takes to choose to make music and tour for a living.

One of the highlights of this particular interview is getting to listen to Randy talk about many of the collaborative efforts he has been a part of including his work with Wade Bowen on the "Hold My Beer and Watch This" records and tours, The Stryker Brothers project with Robert Earl Keen, and getting to sing on Michael Martin Murphy's "Austinology".
